Danielle & George's Wedding

What a week.  The weather sure has been nasty lately.  That is partially why it has taken so long to post a note about my latest wedding from 2/3/2007

Danielle and George got married at Park Place Church of God in Anderson, IN. Huge and nice place for a wedding.  It is well lit too which is so important.

Take a glance inside to see some of my faves from the day.

Thanx guys!

Handmade by mom too.  Couldn't believe it.  She is crafty.

George got inspiration to write in the card for Danielle.

SHOES!

Aren't they adorable?

He sounded better than it looks lol :)

She got to read the card George wrote

Beautiful

Who couldn't love that guy? :)

Already worn out.

Don't they look happy?  See how well lit the church is?

BLING

This little girl had skills.  She danced all night long without stopping but more amazingly was this 4 year old actually had rythym.

THIS WAS NO ORDINARY WEDDING CAKE. OH it was SOOOO NUMMY!

That is Cheesecake you are looking at.  It was very scrumptious.

Melissa & Derrick's Proposal at Sullivan's Steak house

Thank you Carla and the wonderful crew at Sullivan's!

Derrick is a Marine stationed in California who will be married to Melissa in April.  They have been planning the wedding but Derrick was never able to give a ring to Melissa in person.  He came back to visit for the holidays and that night, Thursday, I went to Sullivan's to photograph the proposal without Melissa knowing I would even be there.  I had to hide in the wine cooler and behind the bar dodging the staff.  The staff was really supportive and helped whenever they could.  Here is a little of some of the shots we got...  Click in.

Selecting a Photographer as suggested by the PPA

Consumers: Selecting a Professional Wedding Photographer© Michael Nichols

Photographs Tell the Wedding Story Best

Your wedding only lasts one day, but you’ll want to hold onto the pictures forever. Unfortunately, statistics show that many brides are taking big risks with their memories. To help you select a photographer who will make your wedding story one of a kind the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), a non-profit association of more than 17,000 photographers, has these suggestions:

  • Interview several photographers. Ask questions about their styles. Most wedding photographers offer either traditional, posed portraits or a candid photojournalism style. Some offer a combination. You should also ask if the photographer specializes in black and white or color photography.
  • Look at samples. PPA suggests asking to see albums that show wedding coverage from start to finish. This will give you an idea of both the style and quality each photographer provides.
  • Ask about backups. Always ask if the photographer carries back-up equipment. Also, make sure the photographer has a ready replacement who can photograph your wedding if he or she becomes ill.
  • Develop a relationship. Look for a photographer that you are comfortable with. Remember, you are not hiring someone to simply take pictures, but to tell the story of your special day. A skilled professional will want to know about the bride and groom – your personalities and preferences.
  • Communicate. Make sure the photographer has a clear understanding of your expectations. Take the time to sit down with the photographer and discuss the services provided and the fees involved. This helps avoid any future misunderstandings.
  • Photo or video? Photography and videography are two distinctly different fields -- both requiring extensive training to produce high- quality results. Depending on your personal taste and budget, you may want both photo and video coverage of your wedding.
  • Ask about credentials. Membership in a professional association, certification or a photography degree shows a certain level of commitment to the profession. These types of credentials can help you determine which photographer is right for you.
  • Check references. A friend’s recommendation, other professional vendors, and professional associations are excellent sources of information.

Remember to use Professional Photographers of America’s free referral service to help you locate the right photographer for you. Search for a professional photographer in our member database or call (800) 786-6277 for assistance.

Anne and Grant 12/2/06

I was a little worried about the weather on this one, but it turned out to be a beautiful day! And I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful bride.

Anne and Grant's wedding took place at Holy Spirit of Geist Parish with their reception to follow at the Hilton Indianapolis North. Anne and Grant were such a sweet couple and I wish them all the best. They should be Crusin by now!      (I'm jealous!)

Anne officially becomes a princess :)

Her dress was gorgeous!

Anne pretty much had to wear flats because she's so tall.

This is her mother's mirror that was given to her on her wedding day.

Anne's mom was glowing the entire day.

Anne went through a lot of pain to get this veil to stay in but it was worth it.

Pretty!

Anne goes down the aisle....

Anne goes up the aisle. :)

There was such a nice sunset after we finished up pictures.

Yum!

Another very sweet couple :)

Chris and Sara's Wedding

While this wedding may have been small in population, it certainly didn't lack in opportunities for some amazing pictures.  As odd as it may sound, the Omni Severin Hotel in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana was a perfect location for Chris and Sara's wedding.  Click below to check out some of the action.

First of all, what a gorgeous stone that is in the image above.  It even had the kids wowing.

What a beautiful new bride by the window of the Omni Hotel.

The newlyweds and Sara's dad full of excitement in the background of the rose petals.

Aren't they just the cutest bride and groom?

And finally, what is a wedding in downtown Indianapolis without an amazing photo in the middle Meridian St. just south of Monument Circle.

Congrats Chris and Sara!  Best wishes in your new home as a married couple!

Alyssa & Steve's Wedding Day - Fishers and Geist at Indianapolis Yacht Club

There are lots of pictures in this blog.  Alyssa and Steve came all the way back to Indianapolis from Atlanta to marry close to Steve's family.  You could really get a sense of how important family was and the strong values they cherish.  This wedding was at Fishers Methodist right off I-69 & 116th St. and the reception followed at the Indianapolis Yacht Club in Geist.  This methodist church was very accomodating and I could tell were a pleasure to work with - Thank you.  The Indianapolis Yacht Club is a fantastic place for a wedding reception.  It has great floor space, a great crew, and a great view.  Always nice to see sunset from the deck of Geist Reservoir.  Please continue into this post to see all of the pictures.

The day started with Natalie of True Colors  arriving to take care of Alyssa's hair early in the morning.  Natalie has been there for many of our couple's over the years and is always a pleasure to work with.   She had to work quickly and with skill since Natalie had never met Alyssa since she booked her from Atlanta.

Lovely shoes from Salon.

Dana works the delicate art of makeup to apply some finishing touches shortly before pictures.

Mary Beth never thought she would be so close to Alyssa.  Get it up there.

Team work for cufflinks.

I have never seen a groom tie a full windsor before tying the knot.  He wouldn't leave until he got a perfect dimple.

Pow.  What a dress!  Perfectly tailored.  She looked like such a model.

Steve is looking all GQ in his very own Tom James tux he actually purchased for the wedding.

The posse was ready to take over this wedding by force if necessary.

This ring bearer and flower girl make the perfect team.

I think he was getting tired of standing too long so they pillow got to rest more than rings :)

What a kiss!

Darn it Ron... you had me shaking in tears too.  There wasn't a dry face in the crowd.

Not even Grandpa could contain himself.

Rush through the bubbles quick!

This flower girl never made it to see the bubbles.

I love posting the food at so many weddings.  Often we get great food and MBP is always in our top picks for a great meal.  Mary Beth Poe has managed to pull together a great team to get dinner done right and quickly and still taste great so kudos to her and the staff.  This was just the salad, wait till you see the main course.

mmmmm.... :)

I will find out who made this exquisite wedding cake.  This has such intricate detail and scroll work that you can tell heart and soul were poured into this cake.  Simply stunning.

They were so thrilled to cut the cake and dig in.

There were so many happy tears at this wedding.  Alyssa had to clean up Dad's face during their first dance.

The first dance between the Bride and Groom went on with smiles and laughter as Mike West of Master Gain Sounds played the tunes they needed all night long.

Megan was such a party animal.  Our cinematic style worked so well for this wedding.  We were able to recreate the ambiance so well.

This little man seized the day and took the prize.

Grandpa Bo couldn't help but help Mary Beth out with a dollar for the Bride during the dollar dance.

This was such a fun wedding and you could tell everyone had a blast at this wedding.  Congratulations guys.  I hope we get to see each other around the new year!

A little "kiss" from the maid of honor before the wedding procession.

Don't the bridesmaids look gorgeous...and check out those bouquets.  The wedding flowers smelled amazing too.

What a beautiful bride just minutes before going down the aisle.

This one with Dana and the groomsmen wasn't even planned!

Sometimes great photos arise from pure accidents.  This one happened to be a flash going off from another camera.

Dad really knows how to rock the conga line!  Just one of many highlights of the wedding reception at St. Simon the Apostle.

What an amazing wedding Clint and Dana!  Can't wait to hear from you guys again!!

Susie & Brad's wedding 10/28/06

just a quick sneak peek. there is more to follow on Monday. Take a look at this set of 7 images taken at EM Salon in Brownsburg, St. Joan of Arc in Indianapolis, and Allison Mansion.

Silver Lotus - Wedding Photographers in Indianapolis

We started the day at EM Salon in Brownsburg and I had noticed how perfect her toe nail job was done so I had to get them.

She really does look like a supermodel even at 8am.  Elisha at EM crafted her hair to perfection.  Simply fabulous!

Brad looks so distinguished like a movie star.  Had to make sure he had a standard head shot.  This was right outside Binkley's Bar & restaurant at College ave & Kessler Blvd.  What a cool place.  Cool atmosphere and good food.

Susie was such a great sport.  She couldn't stop smiling long enough to look like a bridezilla.  Very relaxed and calm the entire day... well she looked that way at least.

Couldn't be any happier exiting after the wedding ceremony.  St. Joan of Arc Catholic church had a great length inside the curch to work with and these massive ceilings decorated and adorned perfect for photography.

I pulled them out a little from the altar area as soon as formals were done for one more so we could see them better but we were also able to really show off the beauty of the church.

Supermodel.  Simply beautiful with a perfectly cut dress.  It was altered perfectly.

Can't wait to see you when you come back from Costa Rica!!!

Anne & Grant 10-17-06

We had a beautiful day at the IMA to do engagement pictures. Anne and Grant were such good sports....I had them rolling around in grass and leaves and climbing trees, but they went along with all of my weird demands. I am definitely looking forward to their wedding in December!

Sneak Peek into Bast wedding at Lumiere du corps

Lots of pictures if you view this whole post.

This was such a wonderful wedding for such wonderful people.  Thank you Joan for introducing us.  The location was fabulous and they couldn't have asked for better weather.  Lumiere du corps just west of Zionsville (NW of Indianapolis) has one of the most unique landscapes we have seen and a full staff to take care of all the little details. Thank you Marla for the Salad. ;)

The day started with John...

Silver Lotus - Wedding Photographers in Indianapolis

The day started with John whipping through some hair.  Look at those hands move.

John and Sara & Lumiere du corps

The wedding flowers had the coolest color arrangement.

It is uncommon to see a dress with such intricate and subtle detail too.  Lots of work went into this dress and it was a true pleasure to photograph it.

The staff at Lumiere du Corps will do whatever it takes to get ready... even if they have to break their back doing it. It was so funny to stand there photographing the decorations and then to see the circus team setting up the tent outside the reception hall.

Did I mention how detailed the dress was?  The tie in the back added a dramatic look to the whole dress and oddly... tied the whole thing together.

Andy even forgot that his Dad gave him a kiss so I had to add this for a reminder.  It is amazing how much of the wedding day blurs right by.

Again, those decorations.  This was Sara's own design that Lumiere du Corps put together - purple pumpkins in vases with water with candles spacing them apart on golden netting to set the a great contrast to the coloring.  Really cool.

Lora can be so obnoxious.  Just goofing around while mom ties her in place.

A team effort getting ready.  If you notice, it is 5:07 and Sara walks down the aisle at 5:30.  Zip and shimmer ladies.

I absolutely love this shot of their excitement leaving the outdoor chapel set against that beautiful sky with couds dotting about.  It was such dramatic lighting, I am so glad I was in the right place at the right time.

The beautiful couple soaking up the sun after the wedding still basking in the moment.
