Audrey & Ryan 09/22/2007 Trinity Episcopal & Deer Park Manor in Bloomington, IN
It was a long drive to this wedding and well worth it. I never had the pleasure of meeting either the bride or groom prior to the day but Jessica had after all, she did go to high school with Ryan and some of the other groomsmen. Of course we had to be right in the thick of it on the main drag in Bloomington on Kirkwood Ave, right in front of the IU campus. Jessica started with the ladies early in the morning and Townsend (another photographer and friend) and I went to meet Ryan and Adrian at the hotel. It was wonderfully lit room allowing us to get dramatic images and Ryan and AD did their parts just right and ignored us and just let us do our thing. I do want to let everyone know... Ryan wore mismatched socks :) Let him tell the story.
We only had to go 2 blocks to the church and there we quickly ran through group shots of just the groomsmen and Ryan with his family so we could all run over to Nick's, the local college pub. Sink the Bismark quickly became everyone's favorite sport.
The church was rather dark but we were allowed some great freedom in positioning to rest lenses without blurring. Then to Deer Park Manor only a few minutes away. The grounds there were beautiful and facilities wonderful. Sue, event mananger, did a wonderful scheduling and timing the fireworks just right.... enough babbling... look at the pictures inside by clicking the link below and leave some comments for the couple to see when they get back from the honeymoon!
Thanks guys!

Shannon & Shawn 09/15/07 Northwood Christian Church and Union Station
First of all, there is nowhere around that compares to the Grand Ballroom at Union Station through the Crowne Plaza in Indianapolis. It is simply amazing. It is a more difficult place to shoot in but well worth it. If we can't photograph your wedding there make sure the photographer you use understands how to shoot in a place like that. Done right it will look amazing. The Church is Northwood Christian church at 46th and Central near the Meridian Kessler area. Wonderful with good dramatic lighting. It is close to downtown without having downtown parking problems. I highly reccommend the church and they will accept outside ministers if you need a church that will allow you that privilege.
Shannon and her family have been a blast to work with and I wish them all the best. Shannon looks and can work it like a model. If you look further down in the blog you will be able to see her amazing bridal portraits. I have photographed several attorneys this year and it has shown me that lawyers are people too
and typically very good ones too.
Please Make sure to click in to view the images we have in store for you. Leave comments for the couple as well if you wish!
Thank you!

Shannon's Bridal Session
We have some fun ones!
Shannon wanted some special shots taken in the dress and I thought she was a perfect model for a Bridal session. Her wedding is coming up in September but she needed to come back to see Karen Hall of Karen Hall & Co. for make up and hair. She had to get the test. Testing is super important because you need to know how long it is going to take to get ready. So when she was done she popped on that dress and we went all through downtown and a few out in the middle of no where.
Here are my fave 5.

Amanda & Aaron at the Scottish Rite Cathedral in Indianapolis
Well I must say.... loving the new setup on the laptops we are taking to the weddings now. We carried laptops before but never had the same capabilities. It is 10:30pm at the wedding right now as I am posting this. 3 of us joined in the fun to photograph Amanda & Aaron today to photograph them so while the other 2 are shooting I am spending a few moments uploading and backing up and just felt like posting some of my faves to the blog from the day so that as soon as everyone leaves there is something for them to look at... well here goes. Click in to view the images I have selected so far. Make sure to leave feedback for the couple as I know they will be sneaking a peek from Jamaica.
Thank you Amanda and Aaron for allowing us to photograph your day the way we like to photograph weddings.

Chantelle & Nate 7/14/07
Chantelle and Nate had such beautiful intimant ceremony in bloomington on the IU campus. The wedding party and guests included just 9 people....but it just made the ceremony seem more intenese and really special...no worries though they had a big shindig the next day and invited a ton of people! After the ceremony they headed back to indy for lovely dinner in the wine cellar at St. Elmo's downtown. They should be having a ton of fun by now on their Mediterranean cruise.......jealous!!!
~ Jess
Here are just a few of my favorites!
Talk about muti-tasking! :)
Chantelle let her mother and mother in law pick out her wedding dress!...I know! This is just how laid back she is. Anyways, I have to say it is definitely one of the most beautiful wedding dresses I have ever seen!

Lisa & Adam's Wedding
I am sorry Lisa that it has taken so long to get to blogging your wedding but your wedding was too much for a few of my favorites and I knew you kept saying you wanted your wedding blogged so...
Let me first say, I LOVE YOU GUYS.
Ahem... When I first met this couple I thought I was going to have a tough couple because they are both lawyers. Well to hell with stereotypes... they really are people and good people at that. Adam is superman in a suit helping the underdog. Lisa explained a little of what she does but I didn't understand it.
They are both very eclectic people with unusual tastes in music but it was good music. I got the sense that they look for the hidden beauty in life seeking out good music no one had heard yet. They were open to anything I asked them to do photographically as well and that just made everything run more smoothly.
They were married at the Mavris Culture Center which everyone should go to just to at least see. John Mavris has created a wonderful environment for brides and grooms and puts so much work into each event.
Enough of my babbling...

Hair done at 934? ft.wayne ave. downtown

The south corner of Mavris off East st.

SHOES!!! Everyone thinks I have a foot fetish but every bride should be able to show their future daughters or daughter-in-laws what kind of shoes she wore at their own wedding.

Guess which guy is having his face prepared for a shave at Red's Barber downtown?

This baby's face has too much character. I feel telepathic thoughts or something... I know what you are thinking baby...

Reds Barber downtown. This is where the guys got their whiskers sliced off ;)

What every man should read before his wedding. This book was on a shelf at Red's and we all had great giggles going through it.

BEAUTIFUL DRESS. I really like the way the green sash plays on the color through out the day and in many ways I don't think it was intentional but for maybe on a subconscience level.

Isn't he handsome? Very GQ

She is walking down the steps to drive on over to meet Adam.

Even more GQ don't you think? We had to go back in because it was toasty outside all dressed up.

Lisa likes the wall too.

American Gothic don't ya think?

WEEEEEE!!!

Smoooches!

More smooches right off the circle so we can see the capitol building.

My big fashion ring light strobe put to use. It is like the cover of a conservative Maxim magazine.

Next to the heliport

Cute Ring bearer didn't bring rings... he came with... a warning :)

Lisa said he is the best flute player in all of Indiana. He is a close friend of the couples but seemed to be the type of person who could be friends with anyone as soon as you met him. And he reminds me of one of my favorite actors... Chiwetel Ejiofor (a british actor) I like movies no one has heard of so I do understand your musical tastes ;)

"The Best Dude" or better known as the bride's brother. She wanted him as a maid-of-honor but he looked better in the tux.

The kiss!

This is the lovely view from Mavris of downtown. How cool is that!

TUNNEL DANCE!!! I always think it is so fun to see this.

Can you guess which Madonna song was playing? Who remembers? Lisa apparently loves Madonna.

These guys are great. Digital DJs. I reccommend 4 DJs to all the couples that come in the door and these are one of my favorites. Lots of good DJs out there but not all have their spunk. Take a look at the vendors links on the blog for some of our favorite wedding professionals.

Sara and Matthew Engaged!
Sara and Matthew are such a sweet couple. They wanted their dog Lily to be in a few of their photos....she sat still for maybe 4 and then she took off running wild through the neighborhood. It's not her fault though she's just a puppy (a big one) So we had to settle for a shot of her watching us through the window... :) We still had a great day shooting the rest of the photos and there was a spectacular sunset at the end of the day. Be sure to check out the rest of this couples photos in a week or two and you might get to see some of matthew JCPenny model poses :)

Lindsey & Jim
I really like this couple. I like all my couples but this one has a special meaning to me because I photographed the Bride's brother's wedding years ago... and this couple loves to have their photo taken.
It means so much when a couple is willing to do about anything we ask.
So here are just my fave 3... still busy reloading all the weddings since January.... ugh... They are coming.
